A field trip filled with adventure!
Experiential education opportunities for elementary, middle, and high school classrooms.
Great Lakes Adventures boasts two fully-featured camp properties: Beaumont in Ashtabula County and Firelands in Lorain County. Both properties have diverse ecosystems and fantastic traditional camp amenities.
Our camp properties are available in the fall, winter, and spring. We offer half-day and full-day field trips for your elementary, middle, and high school classrooms!
Bring your classroom to our camps to explore hundreds of acres of forest, wetlands, rivers, and lakes. We specialize in outdoor activities that meet education requirements for biology, physical education, ecosystem study, and more. We also excel in guiding students through creative team-building challenges and have enough activities just for fun to keep folks coming back time and time again.
Possible activities to build your class’s adventure:
Projectile Dynamics: The science behind shooting sports.
GPS Geocaching: Make sense of latitude and longitude on a treasure hunt.
Reptile & Amphibian Study: Get hands-on with the care of camp critters.
Human Foosball: Get competitive in our full-sized court.
Canoeing: See the wet world close up.
Ground Challenge Course: Problem-solve through team obstacles.
Rock Climbing, High Ropes Course, and Zip-line: Experience adrenaline and the academics of altitude.
Geology: Get dirty by going hands-on with rocks, how they are formed, and the secrets they hide.
and so much more.
Our Goals
1. Use experiential education to reengage students with learning.
